原标题:托福在家考写作题目&答题思路汇总

家考托福已经有一段时间了,不少同学都发现独立写作部分有几个题目反复被考到,今天Roy老师带着大家一起来分析一下相关题目的写作,以及能够用到的一些搭配,希望对大家考试有帮助。

题目1:People often buy products not because they really need them but because other people have them.

这道题其实是一个古早题了,2013年5月11日考过,近期又被用到家考托福中。这道题写单边论证和双边论证貌似不是很好找到多条论点,所以写成分情况讨论相对容易一些。

全文总论点:In my opinion, whether +改写题目+ is a question that can only be answered on a case-by-case basis.

分论点1:日常必需品(daily necessities),如food,购买是出于需要(out of need)。

分论点2:奢侈品(luxury goods),如fur coats, bags,可能因为看到别人拥有。

这道题也是9月3日家考托福同学考试的考题。

题目2:Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? At university, students get as much benefit from participating in student organization or club activities as they do from their academic studies.

分析:常规题目,也是13年10月的考题,这里给大家罗列一些参加学生组织和社团活动的一些好处:

1. 参加学生组织和社团可以培养团队合作、领导力和组织能力:foster teamwork, leadership and organizing skills

2. 参加学生组织和社团可以拓展人脉:establish a network of trusted peers/ enlarge social circle

培养或增强能力:hone, develop, foster, cultivate

常用能力:沟通能力(communicative skills),组织能力(organizing skills),领导力(leadership)

题目3:Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? To besuccessful, a business must put more money into advertising.

分析:可以当成绝对词题,先承认投入广告确实有好处,然后再说不投入广告,投其他东西也可以成功。注意这里 business 当可数名词,是 “公司” 的意思。

段落1:承认合理性

花钱在广告商确实有好处,增加 exposure,可以 publicize. 另外,找名人打广告可以 create a positively perceived attributes in the purchasers’ mind, consumers choose your product over the products of competitors

上面两件事都可以→ gain more profit and earn reputation → successful(最后一定要扣题)However, to say that spending a lot of money on advertising is a must is an overstatement.

段落2:钱投在 update equipment+facility 上也可以成功

一方面可以用advanced设备生产更高质量的产品 Superior quality products,一方面efficient 的设备可以降低生产成本。物美价廉的产品消费者很喜欢买,可以赚钱,从而成功(举例可以举格力Gree自动化生产车间workshop,从小企业,做到世界五百强 Fortune 500 company)

段落3:钱投在 employee training and welfare 也可以成功: 可以从公司形象和员工积极性来说

相关表达:

成功:besuccessful, fare well

题目4:Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Letting a friend make a mistake is better than saying or doing something that would destroy the friendship.

分析:2007年考过,2014年也考过,很经典的老题,和TPO2的内容也比较像。上过Roy老师大课的同学应该记得这道题:Parents should allow children to make mistakes and let them learnfrom their own mistakes. 这两个题很类似。大家记住,不会写了就拆分,所以这个题可以拆分mistake的类型:

类型1:严重的错误irreversible mistakes应该立即制止,因为可能会cause dire consequences,比如 campus violence,crimes, underage pregnancy

类型2:一般的小错误不需要阻止朋友,因为朋友在 taste the bitterness of negative consequences and make introspection 后可以 avoid repeating the mistakes 另外可以引用名言:三思而后行 think twice before action

题目5:Some parents today closely monitor their children’s use of technology. For example, they might read the text messages that their children send to their friends with their phones. Parents feel that they are protecting their children by taking these measures. But some argue that they are violating their children’s right to privacy. Where do you stand on this issue? Should parents be closely watching their children’s online activity?

分析:应该监控(use xxx supervised, parent-approved use of xxx)

分论点1:如果不监控,孩子们可以会接触到网上的 harmful contents, 比如有关 violence 的内容,这样会 impose danger on mental well-being

分论点2:不监控他们的话,可能会沉迷(indulge),造成懒惰,undermine academic performance

分论点3:让步段:虽然有人说监控可能会侵犯孩子们的隐私,但是总的来说监控的好处超过坏处。

另外, 18年和19年也考了大量孩子或者学生与科技关系的题目,比如:Parents should restrict young students’ time spent on technology. (2019. 10. 28)

Professors should prohibit the use of devices that can connect to the internet in class.(2018. 9. 8)

禁止设备:

ban screen-based devices: tablets, smartphones, laptops

stay off their phones

keep mobile phones out of...

prohibit students from bringing phones to school

lift their restrictions on smartphones

impose strict limits on mobile phones

接受设备:

embrace and use technology in our dailylives

integrate technology into classroom/learning

使用科技的坏处:

mere proximity to smart phones contributes to sloppy work, reduced concentration and lower problem-solving capacity

There are kids dealing with computer glitches, internet connecting problems, kids playing video games or goofing around on their computers.
